So you’re new to Sorare: Start here! (Article only partially finished)

If you are new to Sorare, welcome, I hope you will enjoy it as much as I am.

If you want to have a good start, there are certain steps that can take to get rewards sooner, or, if you want to invest money in the game, avoid mistakes that I have personally made and don’t want you to make them as well.

What is Sorare (if you already understand this, feel free to skip)

Sorare is fantasy football or soccer if you prefer (and basketball and baseball, but I won’t cover them yet) game in which you own your players. That’s right, all the players you own are yours, as they are NFTs. You can sell them, trade them and most importantly, put them in 5 player lineups to win rewards if they play well in real life.

In your lineup you need:

1 Goalkeeper (GK)

1 Defender (DEF)

1 Midfielder (MID)

1 Forwards (FW)

1 Extra (Defender, Midfielder or Forwards)

Sorare tracks many aspects of the game and how your player performs, so they will get a score from 0 to 100. Each starting player gets 35 points by default, and each substitute gets 25. This score is just the baseline, and it will get up or down depending on your player’s performance.

If a player performs a positive deciseve action, that player will have that baseline increased to 60 and it cannot get lower, except with negative deciseve actions. These decisive actions can be a goal scored, assist provided, penalty won, last man tackle, goal line clearance, clean sheet (for GK only) and maybe some others that I forgot about. There are also negative actions, such as penalty conceaded, red card, errors that lead to goal, over 3 goals conceaded (affects GK only), etc.

The rewards.

There are three main types of rewards: cash, players and boxes.

The rewards you get will depend based on the league you play in and how well your players do. I will cover it more in a following article.

The cash is cash, you can use it in game to buy more players, or take it out and spend it on whatever you like.

The players are devided by tiers (Tier 0 to tier 5. Tier 0 is known as Star.

The closer to 0 it is, the better the player. Most times tier 5 players will either be defenders or midfielders with average or below average performances or goalkeepers or forwards that rarely play. From tier 4 onwords things get better and better.

The boxes can include either improvements for your players (nothing gamebreaking though), players, team jerseys and sometimes even experiences, such as going to a game, meeting some football legent etc. but this does not happen very often.

Now that you have a basic understanding of the game, let’s move forward.

Sign up using a referral code

Using someone’s referral code is a simple step and you can find those everywhere, they help you and the referral get some sort of rewards, those change regularly. As of now, you and your referrer will get $50 once you buy 5 limited players from auction or instant buy (not manager sales).

You can use the $50 to get your cards 50% cheaper. Let me explain.

If you buy a player worth $10 you can use $5 from your sign up bonus and $5 from your own money. If you buy a $110 player, you use $50 from the bonus and $60 for your own money. You get the drill.

If you don’t yet have a referral code, please use mine here. Thank you!

You have 30 days since you join to get sign up benefits. If it takes longer, neither you nor the referrer will get a bonus.

Explore the game before committing.

There is a good chance that when you understand the game you will like it, but that being said, it has a steep learning curve, although it is getting easier with the new mechanics.

Buy players from the same team and year if possible

The more players from the same collection (team and season) you have, the higher bonus you will get. I will explain soon.
